Own your time

What if we stopped celebrating being busy as a measurement of importance?

Effective time management is not about getting more things done; it's about how to get the right things done.

The reality is you can't manage time; all you can do is manage the decisions about how you will spend your days and what you will do.

This engaging workshop will provide participants with a complete toolkit to manage their days effectively, put their time management habits under a microscope, and identify their time saboteurs and enhancers.

Certain things we do in the present can open up space in the future. These investments of time pay off repeatedly, much like a stock can pay an annual dividend. People who seem to have lots of time have often structured their lives to create time dividends; as money dividends make a person rich, time dividends make you feel like this resource is abundant.

'Time dividend' tools include:

• Scheduling tools with a difference.

• Effectively prioritise the competing demands on a daily, weekly, and quarterly basis.

• Mastering prioritisation.

• Develop a strategic approach to goal setting and planning.

• Managing procrastination, multi-tasking and distraction.

• Replacing work/life balance for work/life harmony.

• Master boundary management and the art of saying no.

• Strategies for managing deadlines, email, social media and meetings.

• Tools for mastering hybrid work: structuring remote days and office days effectively.

• How to create a sustainable self-care routine without guilt.

• Managing anxiety & perfectionism.

• Creating a compelling future vision.

Participants leave feeling empowered, with a sense of ownership that helps to eliminate stress and distraction and increase productivity.

Own your habits.

Now that attendees have committed to new actions and identified what behaviours they would like to start and stop doing, we move into the 'how'. Having an intention to change is not enough; our rituals and daily habits produce our results.

It is recommended to host this workshop one or two weeks after Own your Time.

Every day, the habits you repeat (or don't repeat) largely determine your health, wealth, quality of your relationships and happiness. Knowing how to change your habits means owning and managing your days confidently, focusing on the behaviours that have the highest impact, and reverse-engineering the life you want.

This workshop provides tools to create new habits and untangle sabotaging habits for sustainable change.

It is not enough to have the right activities scheduled in the calendar; the headspace, energy, and mindset you bring to them will impact the quality of your work.

We tend to think of habits as our only actions, like walking, drinking more water, or procrastinating. Daily emotional patterns are habits that affect every relationship at work and personally. Going through tasks with fear, anxiety and overwhelm will never produce the desired results.

When you can take control of your mindset, state, and emotions, you will not only manage life's challenges with resilience but also bring your whole self to everything you do, both in your personal and professional life.

When you can master your habits by creating a system for change, you can master your entire world. 'Time dividend' tools include:

• Build a system for getting 1% better every day.

• Break your bad habits and stick to good ones.

• Avoid the common mistakes most people make when changing habits.

• Overcome a lack of motivation and willpower.

• Develop a stronger identity and belief in yourself.

• Make time for new habits (even when life gets overwhelming).

• Design your environment to make success easier.

• Make tiny, easy changes that deliver significant results.

• Get back on track when you get off course.

• Master your emotions, thoughts and beliefs.

• How to manage fear and turn it into fuel.

• Develop a growth mindset.

• Identify your key values & live congruently with them.

• Manage negative thinking & imposter syndrome, which can derail productivity.

• And most importantly, how to put these ideas into practice in real life.
